If you’ve visited our farm in mid-coast Maine, or spoken to anyone here about flowers, lavender, or our wedding venue, there is no doubt you’ve met Michelle. Her energetic personality and creativity make her unforgettable and is THE key reason our farm is both incredibly beautiful and a highly-desirable spot to be married. Or perhaps you’ve spotted Michelle’s husband Ed when he’s up from NC; he’s usually behind the scenes. Ed grew up on a farm in eastern NC and makes the trek to Maine occasionally to help with readying the farm for winter, maintenance on the Lavender Drying House, or when he just needs his Maine “fix.” Michelle’s daughter Meredith Perdue and her partner, Michael, are a bit further behind-the-scenes but an integral piece to the web presence and photos of Marianmade Farm. Not to mention, they keep an eye on the farm in winter when they bring Orvis up for snowshoeing adventures!
We’re excited to announce another family member will be joining our “family affair” in a big way! Michelle’s oldest daughter, MacKenzie, and her family will be moving to Wiscasset in May to spend the summer and fall seasons working on our farm. In addition to joining her mom to work in the gardens and fields, MacKenzie will be our farm’s Venue Manager! If you’re planning a wedding at our farm, or working at a wedding on our farm, she’ll be your contact! You may see Philip driving the tractor or their 2 young kids playing up at the cottage. MacKenzie and Philip are so excited about the opportunity to continue what Michelle has created at Marianmade Farm. They bring a youthful energy and the experience of nearly 5 years in the wedding industry (as Inkspot Crow Films).
We ALL look forward to meeting you very soon!
